If you are having problems with any part of the new system, you need to contact Julie and she will either sort you out or pass it on to Peter. If you have any suggestions for changes or other things you’d like to see, feel free to post them here. Not everything is possible, but it would be good to hear any ideas you have. You may notice that little tweaks are happening as we go along. We had tested everything except the actual scoresheet which we couldn’t do until the booklets were allocated so that had a few tweaks late on Saturday night!

    Hi Robyn,

I am absolutely loving the new system as it is so much easier to read the typed booklets and having everything in one place is working really well for me! It’s especially great as I am away these holidays but am still able to do my booklets in Wanaka! One small thing I have noticed is that when you are assigned a scanned booklet, the pdf you download has the name of the school as its name, rather than the code. This is fine but it might be something to keep in mind if you don’t want evaluators to know which booklet is which team in the future.

Hi Lucy – Great to hear it’s working! We were alerted to that on Saturday. I thought Peter had changed it. To be honest, Deb, Julie and I tested it and not one of us noticed that with the scanned booklets lol. I’ll get Peter to check again. Thanks.

    Hi Lucy,

I am very glad to hear the system is working well for you! It was funny with the file names, I checked everything else very carefully to make sure the school and team names weren’t showing on the evaluator pages, but I missed the most obvious one. Hopefully now it should all be sorted and any booklets downloaded from now on won’t show that information anymore, but let me know if they do, or if you find any other issues.

    Thank you,
    Peter

I think the online system is brilliant! Thank you so much. This made it so much quicker for me. It was very user friendly and intuitive, and I particularly liked that the FS was included (and could be moved around) and that the UP flowed through to the solutions section – so helpful!

The Excel scoresheet was also very helpful. I have a couple of suggestions, which are purely nice to haves (I know how painful Excel can be to use for this type if thing…).
    – summing the Y / R challenges and solutions. This has been coded so that the score for fluency is calculated at the bottom of the column. It’s a little bit misleading to see 13 Ys being tallied as 9. Possible move the scoring calculation to the Fluency box?
    – I don’t know if it is possible to set the default page layout so the standard is one page width so it can be saved easily as a PDF?

These are just minor things, I was impressed by the new system and appreciate how much hard work it took, so thank you!

Thanks Stephanie. Glad it’s worked so well. I’ll pass it on to Deb who has been developing the scoresheet. We may just need to put a note about how it is coded.

13 Ys or Rs do get scored as nine points per the rating scale. Or am I reading the comment wrong? Sorry, I started my booklets late one evening and did them on the old type in sheets (funny how the “new” type in sheets are becoming the ‘old’).
